  • Riggins Racing Celebrates Again in Californian Stakes

    When Noble Faerie is on, he can run with just about anyone. This is something that he shown throughout his career, including his strong three year old campaign. He can also be inconsistent, and that makes it hard to throw a lot of support behind him.

  • Mb Stables Goes 1-2-3 in OP Handicap

    The purse for the OP Handicap was increased to $1,250.000 and Mb Stables decided that he did not want to share that with anyone, except for the fourth place portion. It was a great race for the trainer, as his three entries competed a 1-2-3 finish with Lion Lake leading the way and beating his stablemates by a quarter length.

  • Nothing Troublesome About Californian Stakes

    The Californian Stakes has been won by some great horses in it’s history, including both Icicle and Dark Crown in the early days and both Spanish Showboat and Space Commander more recently. Ten horses will take part in this year’s race, hoping to add their name to what is a pretty impressive list.

  • Large Purse at Stake in The OP Handicap

    A lot of the recent attention has gone to three year olds, but this weekend, older horses will get their chance to be in the spotlight as a large $1,250.000 purse is there for the taking in the OP Handicap. It’s the first time that this amount has been offered here.

  • Good Memories Wins Lexington, But It’s Backroad Bounty to The KYD

    There were two winners in the Grade 3 Lexington, but not because it was a dead heat. Good Memories, trained by Mb Stables, would get the win in the race, getting the headbob over Backroad Bounty. Despite his victory here, Good Memories will not have enough points to make it into the KYD, but Backroad Bounty’s second place effort gets him into the big race in three weeks.

  • Incinerator Burns Down the Field in The Fleet Sprint Handicap

    Since June 2022, Incinerator has not finished lower than second in any race that he has been in, but it would take a claim by Night Rider Stables to start giving the horse the chances at the stake level. Incinerator won his first race for his new trainer, the $100.000 Thomas Stakes, and now in the Fleet Sprint Handicap, he would score the biggest win of his career.

  • Kuul Off Freezes the Field in Giants Causeway

    Kuul Off would make her graded stake debut in the Grade 3 Giants Causeway, and it would prove to be a successful one as she would come from behind to pick up the win. She was not a complete stake rookie, as there were two ungraded starts, but in this race she would pick up her signature victory.

  • Final Chance to Earn KYD Points Is Saturday in Lexington

    It’s the final chance to earn KYD points! After last week’s excitement, we probably know who at least half of the KYD field will be, but there are spots that are up for grabs at the back end of the top 20. Bring on the Grade 3 Lexington, which is the final opportunity for horses to earn points.

  • Wide Open Field in The Fleet Sprint Handicap

    Checking on the action down at OP on Saturday, we will be treated by the $500.000 Grade 3 Fleet Sprint Handicap, giving us an opportunity to check out some of the games top sprinters. The race first appeared on the schedule in 2006 for a modest $150.000, and gradually saw its purse increase over time until reaching its current level in 2020.

  • Seven Look to Party in Giants Causeway

    It’s time to take a look at the 19th running of the Giants Causeway from KEE, a race that should be memorable as it will provide the largest purse that it ever has in its history. It’s an increase of $50.000 from 2023, and that was also an increase of $50.000 from the $200.000 purse that was seen in 2022.
