Lunar Watch Wins Fourth Straight In Colonel Power
Lunar Watch came into the Colonel Power on a three race winning streak, four wins in five, and finishing in the top two in his last six. The bettors did not think highly of chances to remain hot, and sent him off at odds of 39/1. It wasn’t as if this was a stake inexperienced horse, either, so it was a surprise to see him at those odds.

New Faces Step Forward in Pasadena Stakes
A field of ten will be going to post for the Pasadena Stakes, and none of them are a filly! Perhaps since this is simply an ungraded stake, trainers were content to see what their male three year olds could do.

Eight to Run in Colonel Power Stakes
The Colonel Power Stakes is an ungraded event at FG that first appeared on the schedule in 2005, and has been run mostly every year since. The purse has varied between $50.000 and $100.000, so it is at its high point right now.

Alexandra Stakes Wonders: “Where is Everybody?”
It has recently become all the rage, apparently, for fillies to try their luck on the KYD trail. With three that ran in the KYD last year, and more having success this year, we can understand why that would be the case. But you have to wonder, is this at the expense at the KYO?

It was back to the winners circle for Ms Joyce, a four year old filly that won close to $500.000 last year, here in the Ladies Turf Sprint. The trainer kept her busy last year, with 13 starts having been made including a few examples where she races on just two weeks of rest.

Long Awaited First Graded Win for Mystery in The GP Turf Sprint
In some ways, Mystery might be named perfectly. The horse is very successful, and has run in some big races, but if you were to try and find the most exciting race that he had ever won, nothing would really stand out.

Rising King Looks to Bounce Back in The GP Turf Sprint
The GP Turf Sprint might only be a smaller Grade 3, but it is big enough to attract three horses that ran in the BC Turf Sprint three months ago as opportunities for this division are not plentiful this time of year.

Field of Seven for Balanced Ladies Turf Sprint
The Ladies Turf Sprint may not have one of the bigger purses that you will see, but it will still provide a chance for trainers to see if their horse can make a jump into this level, if they should stay in it, or if they can return to running for bigger purses.

Plenty Of Crimson in The Razorback Handicap
The Razorback Handicap may only be classified as a Grade 3, but there is no race this weekend that has a bigger purse than the $600.000 it has to be split amongst the top four finishers. This has led to a nearly full gate, as a field of thirteen will take part in the race
