Zombie Storm Thunders Home in Royal Delta
We had the winner and the exacta for the Royal Delta, but Zombie Storm did not exactly win this race in the way that was expected. She had scored two impressive, wire to wire victories in a pair of Grade 3’s leading up to the HOU Ladies Classic.

The Fillies Are Back on the KYO Trail! The Honeybee Nearly Fills
Last week, only six horses ran in the first 50-point KYO race of the season, the Alexandra at FG. There would be five horses that ran against the boys in The Risen Star, at the same race track on the same day. So this made it very interesting to see what would happen “the week after”.

Plenty of Early Speed in Royal Delta
Eight horses are lined up and ready to go in the seventh running of the Grade 3 Royal Delta, a race that is run a little more than a mile at GP. It first appeared on the schedule as a Grade 2, and with a $200.000 purse, but was downgraded to a Grade 3 in 2018.

Remember This Name: Creepy Risk Impresses in Pasadena Stakes
The Pasadena Stakes was an interesting race in that it did not feature any big headliners but plenty of up and coming talent seen throughout the starting gate. The question would be which one of them would step up to the task, and the answer would be one of the longest shots on the board.

Lunar Watch Wins Fourth Straight In Colonel Power
Lunar Watch came into the Colonel Power on a three race winning streak, four wins in five, and finishing in the top two in his last six. The bettors did not think highly of chances to remain hot, and sent him off at odds of 39/1. It wasn’t as if this was a stake inexperienced horse, either, so it was a surprise to see him at those odds.

New Faces Step Forward in Pasadena Stakes
A field of ten will be going to post for the Pasadena Stakes, and none of them are a filly! Perhaps since this is simply an ungraded stake, trainers were content to see what their male three year olds could do.

Eight to Run in Colonel Power Stakes
The Colonel Power Stakes is an ungraded event at FG that first appeared on the schedule in 2005, and has been run mostly every year since. The purse has varied between $50.000 and $100.000, so it is at its high point right now.

Alexandra Stakes Wonders: “Where is Everybody?”
It has recently become all the rage, apparently, for fillies to try their luck on the KYD trail. With three that ran in the KYD last year, and more having success this year, we can understand why that would be the case. But you have to wonder, is this at the expense at the KYO?

Oleg Enjoys Running on the Front in The Razorback Handicap
Over his career, Oleg has had some memorable moments, beginning with when he won the Great White Way as a maiden. There have also been many disappointing races, including the last time he was at OP, when he lost the AR Derby by 10 lengths. But after winning an optional claimer with a new tactic, there was some optimism about him here.
