Karloffs Monster Scares Off the Field in Stretch to Win BC Distaff
The BC Distaff is the biggest race of the year for female horses, and this year seemed a little different for them with the high amount of success that fillies and mares had over the males, especially early on with their larger weight allowance. Karloffs Monster was no stranger to that route, running in both the TAM Derby and the AR Derby before eventually running in the BEL.

Gran Z Rides the Rail to Win BC Dirt Mile
Gran Z came into the BC Dirt Mile looking like one of the best horses in the field with wins in two of his prior four races. What was particularly appealing about him here though is that he was well rested for the race, having a little more than two months off. That would be part of the reason that he was made our pick, and he would deliver with a two length victory.

Nothing Lazy About Shoo Fly’s BC Juvenile Win
Nine months ago, a horse named Rain Shower went to post at TUP for a new trainer, Lazy Eye. They had operated a virtual stable before, and had spent a lot of time in their preparations prior to their first race. Time to Check Out BC Dirt Mile
The first BC race of the day on Saturday will be the running of the BC Dirt Mile, and a great field has assembled to ensure that the day starts off right. This race was not included in some of the earlier editions of the BC, and first appeared on the schedule in 2007.

Black Card Is Ace in Twilight Derby
Black Card came into the Twilight Derby looked like one of the top choices, but was still searching for his first stake win after a couple of close calls earlier this year. At SA on Saturday, he would pick that up, winning by half a length.

The Fayette Ends in a Dead Heat
There is no denying that Figured The Storm has figured out how to be a great race horse this year, coming into The Fayette with five wins in ten starts as a four year old. Make that six of eleven, but he will share that win First Sargeant, who had commanded two wins in eight starts in 2022 before this race.

Venture In Belief Holds Off Scalp to Win Valley View
While the Valley View seemed to be an evenly matched race on paper, it would end up as a two horse race at the end. Both Venture In Belief and Scalp would be the class of the field and would have a good battle amongst themselves before Venture In Belief prevailed at the wire by a beck for Night Rider Stables.
