MTH Race #9 $100.000

3YOs  123Lbs 5.5 Furlongs (T)

#1 Reactive (Mb Stables/J. Bravo): Gelding is two-for-six in his young career, with all six starts on the lawn.  Draws the rail here and he looks to have enough early foot to take advantage.

#2 Decimate (Mshot Stables/L.J. Luzzi): Colt caught a soft turf course at WO and took advantage to break his maiden in his third try.  Showed speed in that first foray on the grass, so maybe he tries to replicate that effort here.

#3 Fee Love (La Canada Racehorses/I. Castillo): Gelding is already a stake’s winner, and he’s got an experience edge with his 12 starts.  Wasn’t tagged in that win two back, but he couldn’t reproduce that effort last time.

#4 Big Turkey (Asgar/J.A. Vargas Jr): Gelding has two wins to his credit, both on turf, from eleven starts.  He likes to settle towards the rear, so he’ll need the right traffic setup.  Has to prove he’s ready on the quick turnaround.

#5 Dixon Hill (Alydar Stables/P. Lopez): Gelding has a couple wins from eight starts, but he’s been going longer here lately.  Last time he tried this trip, he just missed against N1X runners at FG.  Outside draw could play into his stalking style.

#6 Bear Claws (Mojica Racing/J.C. Ferrer): 3-for-3 on the lawn, all sprinting, and he’s done it in multiple ways.  First two wins came under claiming conditions; however, he bested N1X foes at LS.  Appears poised to make it 4-for-4 on the grass.

Final Analysis: Small, but good, group assembled for this running of The My Frenchman.  We’ll go with the hot hand and call it 6-1-3 and hope we get close.  Good luck to all involved.
