Camp Hollywood Looking to Win The Honeybee

The Honeybee – GIII (P3) [KYO]

OP Race 1 1 1/16M – Dirt

Purse $200.000

Three Year Olds Fillies

A field of twelve three year old fillies will be lining up here for the Honeybee over the Oaklawn surface and they will be trying to earn points towards the Kentucky Oaks. There are some very nice fillies in here for sure and a lot of them have a good chance to win. Lets take a look at the field of twelve.

1. Celebration Lady (7-2-3-1 $59.940), trained by Nakamura Stables

And our first filly that we come across will be making only her second ever career start on dirt. Mainly all of her races have come over the turf where she is stakes placed. I am not sure if she will even like the dirt and I do not think she is even good enough to win. She will be a huge upset if she wins.

2. Piece Of Heart (4-1-1-0 $21.700), trained by Joshua Stables

Here is a lightly raced filly who will be making her first start for her new trainer after she was purchased only a couple weeks ago. She ran fourth in the Suncoast Stakes at Tampa in her last out and she did not run terrible. She will have needed to improve a lot off of that race though to win here.

3. Sizzling Crystal (6-1-0-1 $20.700), trained by Mb Stables

The first of three runners from Mb Stables right here and this filly is coming into this race off of a third place finish in an allowance race at Fair Grounds. She ran a nice race that day going a route of ground but she will need to step it up quite a bit in here.

4. Chick A Boo (5-2-0-0 $71.360), trained by Oquinn Farm

And here we have a filly that is returning back to Oaklawn after she ran seventh in the Martha Washington in her last race. She was only beaten by two lengths that day so she did not run that bad of a race. She will definitely need to have improved out of that race though to have a chance.

5. Artificial (9-1-4-1 $197.000), trained by Mb Stables

The second filly from Mb Stables and this is definitely his best chance to win in my opinion. She just ran second in the Silverbulletday at Fair Grounds and earned some Oaks points in there. I think she has a good shot at winning if she runs a big race.

6. Dali The Viking (7-3-0-1 $367.720), trained by Smokey Stover

Here we have the winner of the grade one Chandelier last year. She won there but then ran very bad last in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies. She won the grade two Demoiselle in December. This is her first start of the year and if she is fit enough she will have a very good chance to win.

7. Appealing Ginger (9-2-2-1 $100.240), trained by The Sidley Stud

Well here is a filly who has won already won an Oaks points race when she won the Busanda at Aqueduct in her last start. She definitely ran a big race that day when she won by two lengths and if she runs like she did that day on here she will have a very good chance to win.

8. Bell Bottom Blues (8-2-3-2 $112.040), trained by D J C Racing Stables

Of course we have an entry from the old wizard as I call him D J C Racing Stables. This filly he has in this race is stakes placed but she has never been a route of ground so that is definitely a big question mark. She will have to run the biggest race of her career and be able to stretch out to win here.

9. Eutectoid Point (4-3-0-0 $99.090), trained by Second Chance Farms

Well here we have the winner of the local prep before this one and this filly won the Martha Washington in her last start. That was really a breakthrough performance for her and if she gained some confidence off of that win and she took a couple steps forward she can maybe win this race.

10. Camp Hollywood (8-3-1-2 $1565.240), trained by Estero Farms

And now here is the two year old filly of the year and the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies winner right here. She is coming off of a second place finish in the grade two Las Virgenes so she is in good form. She is my top pick in the race and I think that she will this race.

11. Hepburn (4-1-0-0 $15.300), trained by Mb Stables

The final one of the three runners from Mb Stables right here and this filly is coming into this race off of a maiden breaking score in a maiden special weight at Sam Houston. Mb Stables must know something that I don’t because I am not too sure about this ones chances.

12. Viking Birthday (7-2-1-0 $79.600), trained by Delta Farms

And now we come to the last runner in the field and this filly is entering this race off of a fifth place finish in the Martha Washington. She usually likes to close from the clouds so a fast pace will help her out for sure. If there is a pace meltdown she could be rolling late.

Summary

Well this is a very nice race for sure and there is some very nice fillies in here. My top pick is Camp Hollywood because I think that she is the best filly in this race and has the most class. She will still need to run a big one though and I would not take any of these lightly.
