Can Levi Broom Continue Her Dominance?

GI- Frizette (BC)

$400.000 Graded Stake 1 Mile on Dirt for Fillies Two Years Old

2016 Champ: Sunita Bonita

The 2017 edition of the Frizette will feature a field of eleven two year old fillies after the scratch of the twelve horse Starlite Run. The field include super filly Levi Broom who will be looking for her fifth straight win in her fifth career start. With Levi Broom the only one locked into the BC Juvenile Fillies race in November this is likely the last chance for the rest of the field to solidify their spot.

1- Nice Az (Trained by Aer Stables, Ridden by Pennington F)

The first of two out of the Aer Stables. She is coming into the race off a narrow victory in the $150.000 Gimma NY bred stake a few weeks ago. Her works continue to improve including some nice mile works. Her biggest concern coming into the race is she comes into the race off limited rest but could be a nice long shot pick.

2- Out Of Wedlock (Trained by D J C Racing Stables, Ridden by Moran D)

Out Of Wedlock is another coming into the race off a NY bred stake victory. Hers came at FL in early September where she took home the $100.000 Lady Finger. Based on her recent works it is a bit of a concern if she will be able to handle the distance as her mile works are slower then you want coming into a GI.

3- Fortune Tune (Trained by Aml Racing, Ridden by Hernandez B J Jr)

Currently in that uneasy position of twelfth on the BC points list makes this a very important race for this filly and her connections. A bad run with good runs from horses on her tail could knock her out of the BC but a top three could also solidify her spot come November. Her works are solid and if she can run the same type of race she did last time out she is a top contender to take home a check.

4- Iron Spirit (Trained by End Run Farm, Ridden by Espinoza V)

The lightly raced Iron Spirit comes into the race a perfect two for two in her young career after winning the $175.000 NM bred Rio Grande Senorita Futurity. She has not had many works over five furlongs in the last handful of months so not a ton to go off of with her. Likely in a bit tougher spot then she will be comfortable with though.

5- Noble Moment (Trained by Mb Stables, Ridden by Gallardo A A)

The first of two entries for the super stable of Mb. She has been running in tough races in her five career starts and outside of her maiden breaking victory in her first start she does not have a lot to show for it. She has not been able to finish better then fifth in her four other starts. Her works are comparable to others but she will need to show shes able to do more when it counts.

6- La Terrifiant (Trained by Jive Inc, Ridden by Lanerie C J)

Two career starts and hasn’t run since August means she is coming into the race fresh. Her works are nice and show she could be a factor in the race. With so little known about the horse she could light up the tote board. She looks like a talented filly it is just a question of if she is ready this quickly to be a contender in this type of race.

7- Levi Broom (Trained by Mb Stables, Ridden by Leparoux J R)

The likely heavy favorite in the race will be Levi Broom and for good reason. She has been flawless during her career so far. Her works continually improve indicating she will likely be better then ever in the Frizette. Her regular jockey Ortiz I Jr is in KEE so will have to do it with a new jockey.

8- Free Sunset (Trained by Team 7 Illusions, Ridden by Castellano J J)

The bridesmaid to Levi Broom in their most recent race. She set the pace for the first half of the race before Levi Broom took over. Her breeding suggests she should be able to handle the distance, if she can harness her early speed she will likely be a contender again in this one.

9- Jolly Molly (Trained by Gdp Inc, Ridden by Bravo J)

On her third try Jolly Molly was able to break her maiden last time out in a PA bred only maiden at PID. Her work times are a touch slower then the top fillies in this race. She is one of only a few in the race to actually run a race at least a mile long but will likely need to improve her race time to be a contender in this one.

10- If I Could (Trained by TwinTowersRacing, Ridden by Bejarano R)

Five career starts and five career top three finishes coming into the race. This will be her first career start in a graded stake. Her most recent works suggest she is a bit slower then the top contenders in the race and combined with the tough post position she may struggle in this one.

11- Sports Creek (Trained by Aer Stables, Ridden by Alvarado J)

Most recently purchased for the bargain price of $30.000 after a disappointing seventh place finish in a Cal bred stake at the end of August. Her works continually get better but will need some racing luck coming from the eleven post.

12- Starlite Run – SCRATCHED
