Two Stables Go Head To Head In Spinster

GI – Spinster (BC)

$500.000 Graded Stake 1 1/8 Miles on Dirt for Fillies & Mares Three & Up

2016 Champ: Heart Nebulae

This win and your in race for the BC Distaff are these fillies last chance at locking in their spot for the race. The race has turned up an interesting field of four after the scratch of Acer Line.  The race will be run in the mud at KEE and features three from the stable of Mb and one from Team 7 Illusions. Despite having three of the four in the race Way Up may give the Mb trio issues.

1- Updated (Trained by Mb Stables, Ridden by Albarado R J)

Finishing third in the GI Alabama last time out after winning the ON bred Bison City back in July. She comes into the race well rested having not run since the middle of August. She has run well at the distance before and will look to come from off the pace and make a run down the stretch.

2- Way Up (Trained by Team 7 Illusions, Ridden by Gutierrez Mario)

This four year old filly comes into the race with over $1000.000 in earnings already this year and is already number one on the BC Distaff points list. She has been impressive all year long and shows no indication of slowing down. If she can run her own race she is the one to beat in this small field.

3- Two For One (Trained by Mb Stables, Ridden by Ortiz I Jr)

Cutting back in distance after a fourth place finish in the GI Alabama last time out should help this three year old filly have a better showing. This will be her first attempt at the mile and an eighth distance which should suit her well. If she can get a quick early pace to run at she could be a big threat coming for home.

4- Acer Line – SCRATCHED

5- Bold Deceiver (Trained by Mb Stables, Ridden by Velazquez J R)

A recent optional claimer win has earned this one a shot in here. She has not been able to hit the winners circle in two other graded stake tries thus far and looks like she may be in a little deep here with the other three in the race looking a step ahead of her.
