Approximately seven weeks of rest came in handy for Tenrikyo, looking to rebound from a disappointing effort in the Fritchie, when she only had three weeks of rest. The mare by Grandeur ran near the front throughout the race to secure the victory.

One month to go now until the KYD, and after some incredible results last week on the trail, we enter what is the biggest day of the prep race season. In this race, we will see if Z Command can pull off the win for the second time in a row to join Blonde Dynamite as horses that have been able to achieve it.

One of the things that I enjoy the most when covering big races like the FL Derby is when a smaller stable picks up the big win. That’s not meant to discredit the great work that people like Mb Stables put into their runners, but as a smaller stable myself, I can feel the excitement that they get when they pull off such a win.
