Clockwork Chai Makes No Mistake as He Plays Track Bias Perfectly

AP Million – Grade I [BC]

1 1/4 Mile Turf Stake Purse $1,000.000 Open 3 Year Olds And Up.

As the track bias played out today i found myself worrying that the horse i picked as the BC winner when he won the PEN Mile may get too far back. Fortunately though either his trainer managed to reset the instructions before they locked or the horse had already noticed the bias and he is that good he made up his own mind to get on the speed. Whichever it was the Clockwork Chai bandwagon went rolling on and the result was never in doubt.

1st Clockwork Chai, trained by Mb Stables
Bouncing out of the stalls as soon as this three year old got on the speed this race was over. Now with seven black type wins in a row he marches onto the BC without a serious rival apart from maybe the horse that got to within a nose of him in the BEL Derby.

2nd Cju, trained by Maxmillion Farms
Got close enough to the leader to put himself in the race with the track bias and he was taking some ground off the winner as the post loomed. To be fair he never looked like beating him but ran a blinder to be second.

3rd Spanish Showboat, trained by Mb Stables
This seven year old just wont go away and came from an impossible position on todays track to run a courageous third. I think, if its at all possible, this horse has improved a little recently and if he tries for a repeat in the Northern Dancer next time i wont be betting against him.

4th Raj Action Packed, trained by Night Rider Stables
Another that ran a brilliant race coming from behind which was virtually impossible today he ended up a very close fourth and will have thrilled his owner. This run was probably a career best and despite running his best races in defeat i like what this four year old is doing.
