Plumage Top Filly In Adirondack

GII – Adirondack

$200.000 Graded Stake Six & One Half Furlongs on Dirt For Filly Two Year Olds

Leading up to the race much of the talk was about Bora Bora as she came into the race as one of the quickest two year old fillies of 2017 but had a disappointing loss last time and everyone was wondering if she could bounce back with a big win. Unfortunately for her she would come up just a bit short again as Plumage would sneak through to her inside with less then a furlong to go and come away with the victory and push herself near the front of the pack of top two year old fillies.

In the early going the two grays near the outside would make a break for the front of the pack. Free Sunset and Bora Bora broke quick and would be the early pace setters with Five Roses, Seydoux, Plumage and Sweep Bnegn in behind while the rest of the field followed in behind with the exception of Sweet Oly trailed the rest of the field by about four lengths and would never find his running legs on this day as he never found his way out of last.

As they turned for home Free Sunset began to give way to Bora Bora and would eventually finish in ninth. As stated before Bora Bora would inherit that lead in the stretch but Plumage would steal it away in the final furlong. Bora Bora would finish the race in second. Rounding out the top three was Five Roses who ran an even race, sitting in third almost the whole time. Closing from the back of the pack to fourth was Speeding Tales.

Rounding out the field in order was Millinneal, Sweep Bnegn, Madame de Maintenon, Unbendable, Free Sunset, Seydoux, Coldpack and Sweet Oly.

With the win Plumage now sits second on the BC Juvenile Filly list with six points, Bora Bora is fifth with four and Five Roses eighth with two.

Congratulations to Plumage and her connections on winning the 2017 GII Adirondack.
