The MD Sprint Stakes Grade 3
6f Dirt Purse $150.00 For Three Year Olds And Upward
Laurel Park, Laurel MD
With only a six-pack slated to go to post in The MD Sprint Stakes you would think that finding the winner would be an easy task, but not so fast, as you open up the form and see a deeply contentious race. I Want It All from Luz International is a five year old pro looking to go over the $500 mark in earnings here. Draws the rail in a small field and might only need to get clear sailing late to get the prize. Fits like a glove and gets Prat. Should be in the thick of it all the way down the lane. Hollywood Cruiser from Threshold showed more gas in his last start and again hit the century mark numbers wise. Drawn on the outside of a small field, he should be positioned wherever his pilot wants him to be. A repeat effort of his last makes him very dangerous. Valyrian Needle from Mb Stables was off a step slow in his last and that was the end of his day. Expect him to come out on top Saturday and use his speed to gain control early. He could easily be long gone if left to his own devices. Kara France from Maletto is a versatile four year old colt who is improving with racing. If they get too cute up front he could be along for more than a piece of the pie. He clearly won’t be short.
Of The Rest;
Caesar Of Rome from Jediminds Stable is sharp, coming off back-to-back second place finishes going seven panels. His numbers however are on the light side when compared to a few runners listed above him. Best to use underneath in exotics would be my guess.
Limpopo from The Sidley Stud is definitely a runner with an eight for twenty-one win mark, however, with under $100 in earnings from those victories, his class is a major concern. Should be the longest price on the board if you like his chances.
