Jenny Wiley – (Grade l)
Purse $650.00 – For Fillies And Mares Four Years Old And Upward
1 1/16 Miles – Turf
Keeneland – April 11, 2026
Wow! Credit Crime added yet another chapter to her remarkable career, delivering an incredible performance in the 22nd running of the Jenny Wiley and once again proving why she stands in a league of her own. She improves to a perfect three-for-three on the turf and increases her career earnings to $4,780.55. Also, this victory marks Credit Crime’s fifth grade-one victory, and she’s only just begun her four-year-old campaign! Aer Stables gets his first win in the Jenny Wiley, as well as jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. Ten graded stakes wins and only running out of the money once in eighteen career starts. What this daughter of War Chant is building now goes beyond a winning streak on both surfaces—she’s redefining what dominance looks like in HRP. No doubt Credit Crime is well on her way to becoming one of the best fillies this game has seen. A huge congratulations to the connections:
Winner: Credit Crime – (Aer Stables, I. Ortiz Jr.) It’s funny how this filly ended up as the longshot on the morning line, but she really had the perfect trip. As Decimas Queen set the pace around the first turn, Credit Crime settled directly off her right hip. There wasn’t much change down the backside, but the ⅜ pole is where she decided to make her move and take the lead. At the top of the stretch, Irad Ortiz had his filly a length in front of the field as she kicked away. Beach Towel was the only one to make headway on her in the final 1/16, but Credit Crime was too good and repelled all challengers. We all can’t wait to see what’s next for this monster!
Second Place: Beach Towel – (Winning Link Stables, B. Curtis) After breaking from the gate, jockey Ben Curis had his mare save ground on the rail in the second flight of horses. She got in a comfortable rhythm down the backstretch and entered the far turn looking to go three-wide outside of Credit Crime. Beach Towel wasn’t closing fast enough on the leaders at the top of the lane, so she had to dive down on the rail again. At that point, there was less than a 1/16 to go and there was no way to catch the winner. It was a valiant effort to only finish a quarter-length back of a freak filly, and she’ll be one on the watchlist for this summer.
Third Place: Painville – (Mo Mentum Farm, F. Geroux) Painville and Lady Hilltopper had a dead-heat for third place. Connections should be frustrated with this trip as this Louisiana-bred has done her best running when on the lead and ended up being three-wide around the first turn. It got even worse for Painville at the half-mile pole as she was shifted out five-wide, right in the middle of making her run. She unfortunately stayed out there entering the stretch and continued to battle on gamely, refusing to let the leaders get away. At eight-years-old, she continues to race at the top level but needs to get the perfect trip to win.
Third Place: Lady Hilltopper – (Black N Gold Stable, J R. Velazquez) Ended up dead-heating with Painville after a less-than-ideal trip. She was last entering the first turn, and jockey John Velazquez moved her up into fourth down the backside. Lady Hilltopper got pushed out four-wide at the ⅜ pole and failed to make up ground on Credit Crime until the final furlong. Looking at her past performances, Lady Hilltopper has usually been within a length at the top of the lane for her to win. From a $14.00 claim to over $5,000.00 in career earnings, I don’t think the connections mind a third-place finish in a tough field.
