Dangerfield Demands Respect in Triple Bend Stakes Score

The public seemed to be a bit confused when picking out a favorite in Saturday’s Triple Bend Stakes (GII), with a post time favorite of 9/2… and they seemed to be right on target as we had a bang-bang-bang finish and six lengths from winner to last.  So we had to go to the photo for the winner of this one and Mo Mentum Farm’s Dangerfield used a late closing effort to hit the wire when he needed to, on the wire, and he took the seven furlong sprint in a final time of 1:21.46.  Given Up On You pressed the pace throughout this one, but took the second spot by the slimmest of margins over Trippi Bay.  It was another half length back to Duke King, grabbing the minor money.

Dangerfield is a 4yo gelded son of They All Laughed – Daughter, by Chai Chicken and he was bred in FLA by his owner, Mo Mentum Farm.  This was his sixth win from twenty-three starts, his third win of this season and he now has lifetime earnings of $365.140.

Dangerfield mid-pack early, ground saving trip through turn, 3p into the lane, split foes, up in final strides.  Given Up On You sharp break, contested the pace took lead inside furlong marker, nailed.  Trippi Bay second flight, good late effort, just missed.  Duke King good early speed, fanned for the drive, out-finished.  Ghost From The North sent from the gate, lead to the furlong marker, headed, tired.  Sweet Sweet Sweet gave an even effort.  Zombie City was not a factor.  Foolish Peasure flashed early speed, tired.  Seven Towers showed little.  Wrecking Havoc was outrun.  Glorious was outrun.  Christina G was outrun.
