1st      Decimas Queen                Maxmillion Farm       9-2 (HRP) 5-2 (SRF)

I worried that Decimas Queen wasn’t devoted enough to turf, but she obviously didn’t give a hoot what I was worried about when that gate opened, and she took off like a bat out of hell, I doubt she even noticed the surface. She led the field in a kind of lazy length lead until she had to pick up the challenge of Categorical Destiny which carried all the way to the finish line where Decimas Queen prevailed.

2nd      Categorical Destiny               Mb Stables           7-2 (HRP) 7-2 (SRF)

Categorical Destiny continued her impressive form with a steady stalk of the leader from the moment the gate opened until they turned for home where she moved into contention with a stretch-long battle to the wire but just couldn’t overtake the winner in the end,

3rd     Rain Rattle                Bears Stable              7-1 (HRP) 4-1 (SRF)

Rain Rattle, the youngest filly in the race, made herself part of the goings from the start stalking closely in third, took up the challenge just off Categorical Destiny but was unable to collar either of the two in front of her.

4th      One Spirit                   Nakamura Stables          *6-5 (HRP) *2-1 (SRF)

 Race favourite One Spirit settled into a stalk in fifth which she maintained until the drive home and closed courageously, but too late, to finish a neck off the board.
