–Devil In High Heels from The Sidley Stud didn’t fire in last years Breeder’s Cup Distaff, but she has looked improved since turning five and might be too sharp at the present time to be denied here, even with a questionable pace scenario in this year’s renewal of The Shuvee Stakes. “Devil” is only about a quarter length away from having three straight victories coming into this instead of one. She is sharp, draws the rail and looks like the horse to beat. Wavy Girl from Saratoga Stud is a seasoned pro, but gets a bad draw in post nine, the outside slot here. She wants to close in a race with a suspect pace, so it won’t be an armchair ride for the pilot who will have to get her in from the outside and then weave a magic passage through traffic and probably earlier than she really wants to. Her last was her best effort in a while, so the positives probably at least equal the negatives. Fabulous from Gdp has a look that must be talked about. An also ran in a state-bred stakes in late October of 2023, she took a vacation until reappearing just a few weeks ago on June 29th of this year. Oh, and she won that comeback race, a state-bred optional claimer, in public workout fashion and now shows up here, in upstate New York in a graded stakes. Her number also improved eleven points after the disappearing act and her works are solid and a touch strange at the same time. Win, loose or draw, a lot of eyes will be interested just off of her pattern alone. El Grande Latte from Black n Gold Stable is winless as a four year old, but her last was an improved performance, so she might be catching up maturity wise to her elders. She has heart and likes the distance, but like her outside rival, she also wants to close. She will need luck and probably will need to hit the gas a little sooner than normal in here.

Of The Rest;

Inginuity from Mb Stables falls into a good spot here, although she looks outgunned class wise, the race has a questionable pace scenario and she has enough natural gas to take full advantage. Oh, and she also hails from the countries perennial leading barn. Look for her to give a good sight for a long time.

Beautiful Eileen from TwinTowers Racing can be given about the same comment as the horse picked just in front of her. She will certainly use her natural speed in here. It will be interesting to see how the two riders play it out. Food for thought.

Happy Dancer from Nakamura Stables might be the sleeper, another four year old who is winless on the year, but appears to be catching up to her older rivals now. “Dancer” also makes the interesting turf-to-dirt move, something that often results in big efforts. Although able to run all day long and close, she has also shown enough speed at times to put herself in front of the big closers signed up. Upsetter possibilities from a lifetime sharp barn.

Dolphin Bay, also from TwinTowers Racing was purchased at the close of 2025 for $11.01 and has had a nice 2026 campaign so far for the connections. “Bay” has won two out of five and just missed last time trying to wire a field of grade 2 types going seven panels. A touch light on the seasoning when compared to a few of the top picks, she still could surprise and most likely will hinder the pace picture even more.

Mightiness from Winning Link Stables was purchased for $150 and in two starts since has been ignored at the windows while finishing off the board in both starts. The barn is having a good season, hitting at 18%, so the information is certainly conflicting. Should be a price if you think she is ready to snap out of the funk in this spot.
