Divos Moon Shot Gets the Job Done on Wet BEL Turf to Take The Knickerbocker

It was a rainy day in Elmont, NY and that made the BEL turf course a soft lawn… for Mb Stables, that just didn’t matter as Divos Moon Shot took Monday’s Knickerbocker (GII) by two lengths in a final time of 1:50.27 for the mile and an eighth distance.  Unamerican took the second spot, a quarter-length in front of the winner’s stable mate, Napoleanic War.  Mucho Baked was a head back in fourth.

The winner made a bold move to take the lead into the lane and continued on well without as much as a whimper from the rest of the field, looking much the best to me.

Divos Moon Shot is a bay 3yo gelded son of Red Headed Divo – Shoot The Moon, by Henry Haynes, and he was bred in NY by Twin TowersRacing.  Mb Stables acquired this one via Private Purchase for $125.000 back in Mar of this year and he now has four wins, three of those this season since the acquisition, and he has $302.760 in lifetime earnings.
