I am not sure that the odds monkeys read her form but I was surprised to see them offering a starting price of 28/1. Actually should I be surprised by the odds monkeys, of course not, the handicapping competition wouldn’t be so easy without them. The winner of the Ruffian Handicap and then third in the grade one Phipps apparently isn’t enough to warrant consideration by our hairy friends but it was enough for her as she got up on the line with a game win. It doesn’t happen too often but when it does a closing win is always exciting and today she just found the line at the right time. Still only a four year old she has plenty of time and will be even better come BC time.        

2nd       Devil In High Heels     The Sidley Stud            Lopez P             1:47.79

Nearly made it a famous win by lugging clear top weight to a brave and narrow second place. This class and brave five year old continues to build on a tremendous career and looks to have plenty more wins left in her.          

3rd        El Grande Latte            Black N Gold Stable Esquivel E                       1:47.84

Came from an absolute mile back to run third but whilst this was a brilliant effort you have to get the perfect run to make it a win from that far back. Beaten only a half length she will get it right one day .       

4th        Barossa Valley              Mo Mentum Farm       Bejarano R       1:47.87             

Tried to make all but could never shake them off and when that happens it is hard to kick hard enough down the stretch to hold on. Sure enough she was run down but only just in a game effort.
