Grade 3 Ali at KEE

A field of six will run in tomorrow’s Grade III Ali. Here we will see a bunch of old faces and a few up and coming stars who will take there chances in Lexington. Let’s take a look at the field.

1 General Chimaera

Sanny Village

Stevens G L

General Chimaera has not won since July against statebreds. Don’t let that fool you though as this horse always get’s up to the plate swinging. With little speed in the race he could possibly steal this one if he receives a clear lead. If he has any company up there it will be with Phelps from the 4 hole. He’s won at the distance with ease and his work tab is nothing to worry about.

Luz Says: Veteran looks primed and ready for his Keeneland debut

MY ODDS: 9/2

2 Devilish Intentions

Night Rider Stables

Lopez P

You got to love the charisma this horse brings to the table. Only claimed for $25.000 back in July, Night Rider has won 2 of 4 including the Evening Attire at Aqueduct. With a decent amount of time in between races Night Rider has taken his time with the son of Mambo King.

Luz Says: From zero to hero, this one faces his biggest test

MY ODDS: 5-1

3 Just Kruz

Wynnewood

Geroux F

Recently bought for $49.990, the son of Kruz tries yet again to regain that form from his youth. He hasn’t won since the Delta Jackpot back in 2013 where he was sold later on that day. It’s hard to like a horse with that stat especially since he failed to hit the board in an allowance two back.

Luz Says: Has seen better days and will need a vast improvement.

MY ODDS:20-1

4 Phelps

Mb Stables

Pennington F

He’s changed hands several times but it doesn’t seem to have a huge effect on his performance as he comes in on a 3 win streak. Prior to his two allowance wins he won the Autumn at Woodbine where he was immediately sold for $220.000. I can’t see why those allowances were necessary after a Grade II victory but the connections are proven and you can’t knock two pay checks.

Luz Says: Rides in on a dangerous streak with a lot to prove.

MY ODDS: 3-1

5 Sparks Nevada

Freak Park

Baze R A

Sparks Nevada is always right there only beaten a length in the Big Cap my issue with my initial Derby choice is that he’s just had too many chances and is yet to convert them to a win since the Spiral.

Luz Says: His winless streak is a turnoff against this caliber.

MY ODDS: 15-1

6 Balai Yeux de Feu

Drabfantasy

Hernandez B Jr

Turned to the dirt in his last but that was going 6 1/2. Prior, his turf efforts were admirable going short once again besides his 2nd place run in the HOL Turf Cup. 2nd in the BC Sprint it is amazing this horse can flourish going long.

Luz Says: Darkhorse tries long on the dirt for the first time.

MY ODDS: 8-1
