This looks like a soft field with only one stakes winner. Justice Of The Peace (Maletto) and Power Cord (Power Racing) have faced each other before in the Whistle Pig Stakes and finished 1-2. These two seem the logical choices. Ex Madness (Angelos Stables) has allowance experience to his credit. Power Struggle (Mb Stables) is another one that could benefit from experience, even though he hasn’t performed well in stakes company. That leaves Double Dex, the maiden. Maidens against winners never get much attention, but anything can happen.

Here’s the field:

#1 Power Struggle (Mb Stables) Broke his maiden in state-bred company in May. Tried stakes level in both of his subsequent races with no luck.  Softer spot here in state-bred company. Will need to bring his A game to compete here.

#2 Double Dex (Angelos Stables) In the money all three career races but is still a maiden. Works are competitive and the small field should work to his benefit. This one needs a big effort.

#3 Justice Of The Peace (Maletto) Stakes winner last out in the Whistle Pig Stakes at PRX in state-bred company. Looks like a good spot for this one. Should have a say in the outcome.

#4 Ex Madness (Angelos Stables) Has a maiden special weight win under his belt but finished off the board in both of his last starts in allowance company. Experience may give him an advantage in this field. Could be there at the wire.

#5 Power Cord (Power Racing) Second in the Whistle Pig Stakes behind Justice Of The Peace last out, this after a maiden special weight win at PEN back in April. Another one with the potential to be in the mix.
