The Spring Fever Stakes – NG
2/21/21
SA Race 4 6F – Dirt
Purse $100.000
Four Year Olds and Up Fillies and Mares CA Breds
Only a field of five California bred filly and mare sprinters will be taking a crack at this year’s running of the Spring Fever here at Santa Anita. One early scratch so a small field so let’s look at the runners.
1. Meadowbrook Lane (9-3-3-1 $88.880), trained by Ace Racing Stable
First up in the field here is a filly who is coming into this race off of a win at Sunland in a first level allowance race. She is usually quick early so I think she should show speed from the rail. Should have a shot.
2. Fall In Line (12-5-2-1 $170.740), trained by Team 7 Illusions
Next up in the field another filly coming into the race off of a win and she beat statebred allowance foes on the grass. She comes back to the dirt where she is also comfortable and she should have a decent chance in this spot.
3. Oneida (15-3-4-3 $150.940), trained by Night Rider Stables
Moving onto this filly and she is another one who like s to show speed most of the time in her races and she as second in a statebred stake at Golden Gate last out. She’ll be forwardly placed and should have a good shot to win in here.
4. Pure Addiction (17-4-3-0 $396.060), trained by TwinTowers Racing
A filly who maybe has the most talent here and she was a narrowly beaten second in a grade one last year. She is in terrible form right now though and unless she makes a huge turnaround she will not have a shot with these.
5. Rundoo Laga (2-1-0-1 $0.000), trained by Lagastable
Scratched
6. Lady Zigmund (15-2-3-2 $107.240), trained by First Flight Stable
Last but not least in the field here and she is coming into this race out of the same exact race that Fall In Line won a few weeks back. She returns to the dirt and should be okay in this spot. Going to have to run big to win.
Summary
Well a rather evenly matched field here and every one of them has a decent chance to win for the most part. My top pick is Oneida especially if she can shake loose in front. Good luck to all in this field.
