The Fleet Treat Stakes will be run on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Del Mar as Race #6, a seven-furlong dirt stake for three-year-old fillies foaled in California carrying a purse of $150.000. First contested in 2004, the race has produced winners for several repeat connections, including Canadian Racing, Smokey Stover, and jockeys Espinoza V and Smith M E. Smith M E returns aboard Sweet Magic after previously winning this race with Gabrielle in 2018.
1. Solar Angeles — T Boy Racing / Hernandez J J — Odds: 2/1
Solar Angeles owns the strongest combination of consistency and proven sprint-stakes form. She has finished in the top three in all 10 career starts, compiling a 4-3-3 record, and has won three of five races this year. She captured the six-furlong Dye Stakes at Turf Paradise in April after taking two earlier allowance races, then finished third in the Seattle Stakes at Emerald Downs while carrying 124 pounds. The move to seven furlongs is a new challenge, but her repeated success between 5 1/2 and 6 1/2 furlongs suggests she has the foundation to handle the added distance. She is the leading contender.
2. Miss Comanche — Panionios Racing / Murphy O — Odds: 7/2
Miss Comanche arrives in improving form after winning a 6 1/2-furlong optional claimer at Emerald Downs on June 21. She tracked the pace from third before taking command at the third call and holding by one-half length. That effort followed a second over the same distance in May, giving her two consecutive strong races entering this assignment. Her previous attempt at seven furlongs resulted in a seventh-place finish in the Gasparilla, but her recent progress makes her a legitimate threat if she carries that form into stakes company.
3. Dismantle — Mb Stables / Maldonado E — Odds: 4/1
Dismantle has won two of four starts in 2026 and comes off a front-running seven-furlong allowance victory at Churchill Downs. She led at every call in that race and held by a neck, providing direct evidence that she can succeed at today’s distance. Her earlier attempt against graded company in the Santa Anita Oaks resulted in a ninth-place finish, but this statebred stakes field represents a more suitable level. With proven speed and a favorable distance record, she has a serious chance to control the race.
4. Sweet Magic — First Flight Stable / Smith M E — Odds: 5/1
Sweet Magic enters with consecutive victories at route distances, most recently winning a one-mile statebred optional claimer at Santa Anita. She has won four of six races categorized as long-distance starts and has shown that she can settle behind the leaders before finishing strongly. The cutback from one mile to seven furlongs is the primary question, but her latest win came against older fillies and mares, and Smith M E remains aboard after guiding her to that victory. She is a credible contender if her route stamina translates effectively to the shorter trip.
5. Island Fever — D J C Racing Stables / Rispoli U — Odds: 6/1
Island Fever has been highly reliable in route races, winning twice and finishing second twice in four starts this year. She led throughout a 170-yard allowance at PRX on June 10 and won a one-mile maiden race at Houston earlier in the season. Her previous sprint efforts were less accomplished, although she finished second twice as a juvenile at six furlongs. She possesses enough tactical speed to be involved early, but the seven-furlong distance requires her to shorten successfully after three consecutive route appearances.
Pace Structure & Race Outlook
Dismantle is the most likely early leader after setting every fraction in her seven-furlong Churchill victory. Solar Angeles has also shown speed, winning from close range and occasionally taking command before the final call, while Miss Comanche has been effective sitting just behind the pace before advancing.
Island Fever may also be placed prominently after leading throughout her latest route win. Sweet Magic appears most likely to settle behind the first group and attempt to benefit if the pace becomes contested.
The central question is whether Dismantle can control the race without significant pressure. Solar Angeles and Miss Comanche have enough positional speed to remain close, and both have demonstrated the ability to finish after stalking the leaders. Solar Angeles owns the most complete sprint record, while Dismantle has the clearest seven-furlong evidence.
Projected Winner
Top Selection: Solar Angeles
Solar Angeles gets the call based on her 10-race record without an unplaced finish, three victories in five starts this year, and proven success in sprint stakes and allowance company. Dismantle is the main danger because she has already won at seven furlongs and may control the pace. Miss Comanche is another strong contender following two sharp 6 1/2-furlong efforts, while Sweet Magic is the most interesting runner cutting back from route races.
