When last we saw him, Found Peace was running up the track in the G1 BC Turf.  He reappeared at DMR on Saturday for the $400.000 G1 HOL Derby and demonstrated that he may be a force to reckon with in 2022.  Always in position to pounce, Found Peace was able to cross the wire first in the time of 1:45.32.  With the win the horse delivered a second victory in this event for Mb Stables and improved his career mark to 18-6-4-3 with earnings of $1,783.400.

Coming down the chute and past the wire for the first time it was Stealth Command and Devil Made Me Do It dueling on the front end.  Behind them, Jakarta, Tyrannical, and Found Peace raced in a line across the track.  Devil Made Me Do It was able to put a length between himself and Stealth Command as he passed the half-mile point in :46.76.  Found Peace was three lengths back in third and had a length on Jakarta who was down on the rail.

Three-quarters went in 1:09.85 as Devil Made Me Do It maintained his one length advantage; however, Found Peace was now running on even terms with Stealth Command.  His move was followed by Jakarta and Tyrannical as they tried to keep pace with him and moved to within two lengths of the leader.  Continuing around the bend, Found Peace moved within a long neck of Devil Made Me Do It as Stealth Command retreated a bit on the rail.  Tyrannical and Jakarta were moving in tandem and were both within three lengths of the leaders; however, only one would be able to sustain his run through the lane.

Found Peace found the front as they straightened-out for the drive, but Tyrannical looked poised to strike from out wide.  Devil Made Me Do It was doing all he could to keep pace, but he was feeling the effects of the early fractions he set.  Found Peace ran straight and strong through the wire and while Tyrannical was slowly eating away at the leader’s advantage, he would only get within a half-length as they crossed the wire.  Devil Made Me Do It was another length and a half back in third and was followed across the wire by Jakarta, Stealth Command, Savannah Ruler (he was really moving well in the later stages), Supercomplication, Cantstopwhatscomin, and Sinissipi Magic.

Congratulations to Found Peace and Mb Stables for their victory at DMR in the G1 HOL Derby.
