Reverse KOD was in full effect on Friday at DMR.  After being dismissed in the preview of the G2 HOL Turf Cup because of his status as a maiden, French Style battled on the front end before eventually pulling away to win the $250.000 G2 HOL Turf Cup for the first victory of his career.  It was a length and a half back to Dracarys, the horse dueling with the eventual winner on the front end, in second.  With the win, French Style improves his career ledger to 9-1-1-4 for earnings of $296.200.

The first half of the race saw Dracarys and French Style race in tandem through an opening half-mile in :48.56 and three-quarters in 1:12.49.  Dracarys had the upper hand at the half-mile point; however, as they reached six furlongs, French Style took a lead that he would never relinquish.

As they approached the top of the lane, French Style was in command after passing ten furlongs in 2:00.48.  Dracarys was still close enough to be dangerous with Hammerfest, Spankersville, and A Born Dancer trying to get closer to the top pair.  French Style increased his lead on Dracarys through the lane, but the runner-up dug in to hold off Spankerville for the place honors.  A Born Dancer was another length back in fourth and was followed home by Hindenburg Tour, Hammerfest, Raj Action Packed, and Dead Madness.  French Style completed the mile and a half journey in 2:25.40 and gave trainer Maxmillion Farm his second HOL Turf Cup victory and jockey A. Cedillo his first.

Congratulations to French Style and Maxmillion Farm on their victory in the $250.000 G2 HOL Turf Cup at DMR.
