Girls Just Wanna Have Fun… Paris Broadway Takes Davis at TAM

2/12/22

16   TAM     The Davis Stakes (GIII) [KYD]

                  $250.000     3yo       1 1/8m       Dirt            120 lbs

The tote board was lit and the name of the game is filly…  Paris Broadway couldn’t hit the board against Alw fillies, but she ran off to win The Davis Stakes (GIII) at TAM on Saturday at 15/1 odds.  The bay filly stayed close to the pace throughout the mile and a sixteen KYD prep and  kicked clear late to win by a half-length, covering the mile and a sixteenth in 1:413 on the Fast Oldsmar strip.  Tiz Chai was close-up throughout and took the place at 21/1 odds, nosing out All Take in third and Gem Of A Shark in fourth as that trio landed on the finish line almost simultaneously.  Four lengths coved the field in this one and the exacta/trifecta payoffs once again proved why wagering here is just not feasible or near real life.

Paris Broadway is a 3yo bay filly by French Control – Broadway Shadows, by In Control, and she was bred by Glorify Stables in ON.  This was her third lifetime win, second stakes score, as she took an ON-bred stakes at WO in her freshman season, and she now has earnings of $324.800.  Congrats to the connections!

Paris Broadway tracked the pace 3p first turn, moved up 4p to engage leader into the lane, battled, prevailed late.  Tiz Chai tracked the pace from the rail, moved 2p for the drive, won head-bob for the place, game.  All Take rated back 3p first turn, continued 3p to mid-way on the far turn, fanned wide for the drive, good effort.  Gem Of A Shark broke alertly, set the pace to inside the final sixteenth, tired along the inside.  Deserve ground saving trip, best foot too late.  Killer Instinct gave an even effort, no excuse.  Effrayant wide trip, no factor.  Model Commander was never involved.  Shook pressed the pace to the far turn, steady retreat.  Mr Fabulous was outrun.  Dont Ever Try It was outrun.
