Grayte King an Easy Winner in The Cutler Bay

The Cutler Bay-Stake

GP Race 4 1M Turf

Purse $125.000 For

Three Year Olds

1 Grayte King, trained by GDP Inc.

Raced alongside Artsist Moon as they set a leisurely pace through a half mile. Stuck his nose in front as they entered the far turn and gradually increased his lead as they moved around the turn. Pulled away through the stretch and was never threatened for an easy win.

2 Artist Moon, trained by Joshua Stables

Went to the front and set a slow pace while being pressed by Grayte King. Started to cede ground to that one as they moved around the turn and was a clear second as they entered the stretch. Was never a threat to the winner but was always a clear second.

3 Con Artist, trained by Mb Stables

Raced at the back of the pack four lengths off the lead while saving ground. Tried to start a rally as he entered the stretch but was unable to make up much ground on the top two.

4 Que Niagra, trained by D J C Racing Stables

Raced at the back alongside Con Artist but was caught 3 wide around both turns. Also tried to rally with Con Artist but was only able to secure fourth.

Summary

This race was pretty much over when the half mile went in 47.4 as nobody was able to make up any ground in the stretch. Hard to tell what this means for this group moving forward as it is rare to get a pace that slow. Grayte King should be able to step up in his next outing and for the horses trying to close this was a throw out.
