The Green Card is on a roll handing out big ones… nailed another big exacta here…   and the Caress (GIII) was about the need for speed as Gummy, trained by High Voltage, broke well from an outside post, set the fractions and came home nicely to take the turf sprint by a quarter length.  The final running time was 1:021 for the five and a half furlongs on the firm Spa sod.  truly Deeply Madly, another double-digit-odds horse, was always close to the pace, came home in good fashion but just couldn’t get any closer to the winner, taking the second spot by a head over the fast closing Trippi Sprinkle with Cassandra G getting the minor money.  It was only four lengths from front to back in this one, so the advert as being a wide open affair certainly proved correct.

Gummy is a 4yo bay filly by Gumshoe – Polish Dogma, by Eastern Precedent, and she was bred in Cal by EasyMoney Stables.  Acquired by High Voltage via private purchase back in Sep of 2019, she now shows seven wins from nineteen starts and lifetime earnings of $372.120.  Congrats to the connections!

Gummy broke alertly to set the pace, held sway late, won driving.  Truly Deeply Madly tracked the pace throughout, could not get past winner in a good effort.  Trippi Sprinkle mid-pack early, responded when asked, closed well, game effort.  Cassandra G tracked the early pace, out-kicked in the late stages.  Supersede taken back off of the pace, began to move forward through the far turn, one pace from there.  Early Mornings some early interest, tired.  Angel Shark showed good speed for a half, tired.  Sister Dearest trailed, passed tiring rivals.  A Chorus Line gave a dull effort. Amagasaki was never involved.  Midnight Liquor was outrun.
