High Ended Grows Some Webbed Feet to Win Buena Vista Stakes

Buena Vista Stakes – Grade II
1 Mile Turf Stake Purse $200.000 Filly & Mare 4 Year Olds And Up.

1st High Ended Fractious Van Dyke D

For some reason at HRP the rain opens up these fields and we often see wide margin winners. Although this filly is clearly at home on a wet track i think she was merely the best filly in the race today as she flew home and raced three lengths clear. On a dry track it may well have been a neck margin which is probably more realistic but she certainly deserved this win and is a fast improving filly.

2nd Chai Mission Maxmillion Farm Rosario J

As soon as it started raining so this mares chances got better and better. I think she got beat by the better filly today but ran her usual decent race in these conditions and will continue to be a threat when it rains.

3rd Lorraine Mo Mentum Farm Gutierrez Mario

Leading in the mud can pay off but its a pretty rare occurrence these days so it was no surprise to see this filly weaken after going to the front. It was a good effort for third, about as good as could be expected.

4th La Terrifiant Our Athletes Bejarano R

The BC Fillies and Mares champion hates the wet and made a decent fist of trying to win this race but the writing was on the wall as she struggled round the outside. In the end she faded to fourth but she will be a different mare when in dries out.
