1st Higher Limit, trained by Night Rider Stables

Well I think it’s safe to say this horse is loving these long distance races that he has started running in lately. He won at a mile and three sixteenths and has now won a graded stakes race going a mile and a half and he won from dead last by a half of a length. He ran in 2:28.98 and earned $120.000 in his victory.

2nd Free Bird, trained by Hambletonian Stable

Although he didn’t win he ran another good race at a mile and a half for sure. He ran second and obviously he loves these long distance races also. He only got beat by half of a length so he pretty much ran a winning race but there was just one horse better than him. He ran very well to run second.

3rd Devil Water, trained by Team 7 Illusions

Once again this horse has to finish in the top three in a stakes race. This is his fourth straight race that he ran second or third in a stakes race and it just seems like he can’t get the money for some reason. He did run pretty good though and he only got beat by a length so he did run pretty good.

4th Scotus Ghostus, trained by Drabfantasy

Well this horse tried to do what he did last time when he broke his maiden and that was just fire out to the lead and see how far he could go. He went a good ways on an uncontested lead but when he was out of gas that was the end of the line for him. He still hung on for fourth though and only got beat four lengths.

Summary

Well this winner was a very impressive winner and he obviously likes to go these far distances. What was very impressive to me was that he came from so far back early on. He was dead last early and out footed everyone. He will have a good shot in the Marathon race in Breeders Cup weekend. Congratulations to Higher Limit and Night Rider Stables.
