Winter Solstice Runs a Big Race in The Saranac

                            The Saranac- GIII
                    SAR Race 10 1 1/8M- Turf
                             Purse $300.000
                             Three Year Olds

1st Winter Solstice, trained by Maxmillion Farm

Well I shouldn’t have been surprised with this horse coming as the winner because look at his trainer. Maxmillion Farm is the arguably the best turf trainer on the game and this was a turf race. This horse ran a huge race and proved he is a quality horse. He ran in 1:45.55 and earned $180.000 for the win.

2nd The Drifter, trained by D J C Racing Stables

Well this was the second straight second place finish in a graded stake three year old turf race for this horse from D J C Racing Stables barn. He is still searching for that first graded stakes win and eventually it will happen. He closed from last to get up for second and he ran a pretty good race.

3rd Lane Frost, trained by Sanny Village

Well this horse didn’t run as good as I thought he would for sure as I thought he would run a huge race moving back to the turf for the first time in a long time. He didn’t run terrible but I thought he would run a lot better than he did. Maybe it will just take a race to get him back to being used to the turf.

4th Battle Of Midway, trained by Spankys Barn

He tried to do what he did when he broke his maiden and that was go to the front and try to draw off but that did not work with this quality of horses. He faded back to fourth and ended up getting beat by five lengths but he still didn’t run last and earned a couple dollars for his effort.

Summary

Well this winner has turned into a pretty good horse and is becoming a pretty good graded stakes runner. The Drifter ran a pretty good runner up race and Lane Frost was the third place finisher and he really disappointed me because I thought he was going to run big. Congratulations to Maxmillion Farm and Winter Solstice.
