It’s Another Precise Performance in The Ballerina

The Ballerina – Grade I [BC]

7 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $500.000 Filly & Mare 3 Year Olds And Up.

Only at HRP would you see the BC Distaff winner of 2020 moved to become a sprinter the following season but there is an air of inevitability when you see an MB Stables BC winner running in a grade one regardless of which trips they have been running over. Winning her second sprint in a row she will look to add a sprinting title to her Distaff title in November and it is looking very much like that is on the cards.
For all my conjecture over her being a router she is actually three from three over this seven furlongs so just maybe she is a sprinter that won the Distaff rather than a router that is trying to sprint. Or maybe of course she is just a line of code in a computer and the trip means nothing if you have the highest number, we will never know that fact but what we do know is that this is a very high class horse who could probably win any BC race she was entered in. Sitting a little off the speed as the leaders went a fast pace she got the run that eluded others and went about her business for a half length win. Congratulations to the owner/Breeder.

I know the trainer will be thrilled with this effort as this filly kept trying all the way to the line. The fast pace meant she didn’t make the lead today so we must assume she has been on something like AA in her previous races but she got a nice trip from the one gate and i am sure we will see plenty more from this improving and gutsy filly. The best of the three year olds today they beat more older horses home than i thought they would so just maybe the development curve is getting going again and the three’s will start to get on top again soon.

3rd        Slckmoment Laga       Night Rider Stables     Saez L

She was clearly on a similar instruction as she was last time as last time she was much closer on a slower early pace but this time she fell back in order to run similar splits and therefore didn’t get the dream run she got last time. Considering how close her last two races have been and that she didn’t get the perfect run she actually ran very well closing off to get within a length of the winner. As the three year olds start to close the gap on development i would think she will have a very good chance in the BC.

Went way back from the wide gate and flew home for fourth, closer’s or on pace Mb Stables seems to be able to get the best out of their horses now after a bit of a lean spell and i am pretty sure this filly will get another chance to get into the BC.
