7f Dirt for Two Year Olds Foaled in WV
Purse $75.00 – Charles Town Racetrack, Charles Town West Virginia
Impossible to fault anything about John Nine Thirty Two from Panionios Racing especially after shipping here to beat statebreds in the Mercer Memorial over this course. The win two starts back going six furlongs adds positivity to his chances here at seven panels as well. He should be a short price to make it four straight Saturday outside the casino entrance. Main threat and probable second choice would likely be Vinny Rocks from The Sidley Stud as he was right there in the Mercer finishing fourth and has a few more starts under his belt. “Vinny” draws a better post here than in the Mercer and should go close. Prince Bodhi from Hammelot Farm catches the eye off a solid out-of-nowhere performance in The Display Stakes at Woodbine. He got no love in the post draw and ends up nearest the parking lot, but with only seven signed up he should be able to work out a trip from the back and come storming home late. Tipsy Ned, also from The Sidley Stud draws gate two here and he will most likely break and settle right off the pace. He ran good enough in his his debut over this track to suggest that he likes it here and this is his third stakes appearance in a row.
Of The Rest;
El Pistola from T Boy Racing draws the rail and should get an easy trip, breaking and dropping back without much left-to-right movement needed, then hitting the accelerator to make a late charge when the real racing begins. If anybody gets too cute up front, “Pistola” will be the main beneficiary.
Midnight Caller, also from Hammelot Farm might be too low in the handicapping. He beat his stablemate during a nice six and a half furlong win over this course in his last and was then given the biggest equipment change in horse racing. Given enough time to be fresh for this engagement, “Caller” could run a shocker at a bit of a price here.
Rowdy, the third entrant from Hammelot Farm was beaten by Midnight Caller in that aforementioned six and a half allowance race over this course, but not by much. He then went to New York and got pushed around by $50 platters going this trip. Expect him to make a come back tonight and run a decent race, but a win would be a little surprising given the field’s overall context.
