Look out… long shot!  Sent off as the near 14/1 longest shot on the board, Serenity Stables‘ Journey East pays immediate dividends after being claimed for just $12.50, last out… today, it’s stakes glory winning The Roxelana by a length.  The final running time was 1:09.12 for the six panels, over the fast main track, here at CD.  Content to linger towards the back of the pack while never far from the pace, the 5yo mare just wore this field down for her first stakes win.  She now shows twelve wins from thirty-three lifetime trips to the gate and earnings of $276.43.  Congrats to the Connections!

Scenic Route, the post time favorite, also close from the back of the pack to nail down the second place money, then a neck to a dead-head for third between Memphis Reins and Striking N.  Only two lengths covered the field of five and there were no scratches in this race.
