Laurel Parks The Fritchie Stakes

Feb 16 2024

My goodness there’s some beautiful filly’s and mares going to grace the Laurel Park surface today.

Today loading in the starting gate is Snake Island. This filly, in her three-year-old campaign came a neck short of the most prestigious prize, the Kentucky Oaks. Although she has not run since the disappointing finish in the championship Breeders Cup distaff, to that point, she has done everything else accordingly. There’s my opinion about her trainer Night Mare Racing. Snake Island has had a breather or let’s say rest. Night Mare Racing sent her to bullet work twice over this course. Her resume speaks for herself. This island has one snake that’s ready to strike.

Although this race has so much talent, one of many is Lady Sammyantha, home bred from The Sidney Stud, champion in all means of a racehorse, winner of three straight. When it counted, she kicked home in the Breeders Cup FM sprint. Her SRF numbers are above 100 and her earnings allows all of us to take notice.

Let’s take a look at a trainer here that in the last year blasted on the scene. That’s SPB Racing, only being here less than a year. At the start of 2024 he pushes to stay in the top 20 of earnings and wins. He’s a Graded Stakes winning trainer of sales of less than $10.000 and claims like He’s Super Freak. An investment of $3.750 made him a stakes horse owner and the winner of 4 out of 5 races. He seems to an eye for the dramatic. Sweet T is one of those. Winner of a Grade 3 and runner up in the last two Graded Stakes. This Filly was bought for $6.000. Sweet T is up against a field of class fillies and mares. Make no mistake, she is one of those looking to head into the winner’s circle.

My Man of Steel Enterprises longshot goes to Seet T. Our hats and recognition go to SPB Racing.

God speed to all.
