As the feature race drew near today at Del Mar the 5 horses got ready for the race knowing that they were about to take a trip going one mile over the fast dirt and a new graded stakes winner would be crowned. When the horses entered the starting gate the betting public put their strong support behind Live For Today. As the gates opened all horses came out well but it looked like the betting faviriote Live For Today wanted the sole lead within the first 2 furlongs but by the time the horses hit the 2 furlong mark Bettys Wisky had passed her with Brawl Dead End in 3^rd. The first ¼ mile was run in 23 and 4. At the half mile mark Bettys Wisky was on a loan lead running 47 and 1. Live For Today was sitting in a nice spot along the rail a length and ¾ off the lead with but she appeared to be traveling well. Just to her outside was Brawl Dead End. After 6 furlongs Live For Today made her move off the rail and got a free lane and had passed Bettys Wisky and looked as if she was going to run away from the field in the final 2 furlongs. Brawl Dead End was still running in 3^rd but did not look like she would challenge the leader. In the End Live For Today ran away from the field and won for fun.
