Another swing and a miss at KEE, unless you consider The Card having the second and third place horses something of genius… 13/1 and 48/1.  But it was the 25/1 winner that made this one all the more magical as Winning Link Stables‘ King Speed Party breaks a step slow, rushes up, takes over and holds off this classy group of sprinters to take the Shakertown (GII).  The final running time was a brisk 1:02.08 and the final margin was a neck.  Congrats to the Connections! 

Nitro, from The Sidley Stud, closed from well off of the pace to secure the second-place money, a half length better than outsider Bear Head, trained by Maxmillion Farm, then another quarter length to Winning Link Stables’ Misting, taking down the minor share.  Seven lengths covered the field of eleven and there were no scratches.
