This colt finally lived up to his fifth in the Breeders Futurity by charging home and just getting the nod today. He was much better ridden with restraint in this race after running from a wide draw and going up on the pace in the Smarty Jones. If he can improve again he may have a sneaking chance of getting into the KYD picture but it will be a long and difficult road if thats what his trainer goes for.

This run confirms that this horse is a long way from a free tracker and for a long way it looked like he may hold on to victory. Fast out of the gate he set a strong pace but as usual at HRP the closers usually get the leaders and thats what happened today. With this being only his second start he looks to have the most scope in the field and he may make his presence felt in the KYD qualifiers going forward.

Stormed home for a close third. Its difficult to place him exactly going forward but with only 5 starts he is due further improvement.

Disappointed a little but was only a length back in fourth. I think he may be better on turf but this run and his recent work may make his trainer give him one more go on the dirt.
