Mb looks to dominate Canada again

Muskoka Stakes
WO   Race #3   6 1/2f   Dirt   Stake
Purse $200.00  For Fillies Two Years Old Foaled In Canada.

1 Fool Me One Time, trained by Mb Stables
It’s refreshing to write about a race where everything is the same age so the whole weight allowance thing doesnt apply. So at last a proper race to assess. The inside gate goes to the Mb Stables filly who also has the fastest works in the race….lets just hope its not that predictable, although. of course it probably is. She ran a nice couple of races in competitive maidens until taking a statebred on this track by a pretty easy two lengths and on that form will be very difficult to beat on her home track.

2 Sweet Oly, trained by Fractious
Looked more than useful taking her debut maiden and then landing the My Dear and headed to the grade two Adirondack as a warm favourite to make it three in a row. For some reason, and lets face it we will never know, she ran a stinker in that race finishing a no show twelfth. Her trainer would have been confused after spending $150 to secure this filly after her My Dear victory and i hope for their sake today she gets back into her stride and hots the board.

3 Commanding Rose, trained by Team 7 Illusions
A daughter of Commanding she was bought for a very cheap looking $40 before just lasting home in the mud to win the Nandi Stakes. She has plenty of speed but i wonder whether she will last home today over this six and a half furlongs.

4 Rainy Day Woman, trained by John Henry
Won on debut and has been running pretty well in her two races since. A closing eighth in the Astoria was OK but she stepped up on that with a good second in the Shady Well Stakes last time and should be competitive again today.

5 Young Poppy, trained by Threshold
Still a maiden but her run in the Brave Raj Stakes last time makes her a live hope. closing hard she only failed by a neck and faces a similar problem from a wider draw today. Expect her to be on the pace today in a smaller field and she has the works and form to make the frame again.

6 Pandemonium, trained by Aer Stables
Easily won a free track maiden on debut and has been working well since being bought for just $15 at the beginning of August. The wide gate will test but her works suggest she can get into the finish.

SUMMARY

This looks like another win for Mb Stables with Fool Me One Time with a nice draw and the best work times. There are a few that will challenge and with a bit of luck may push her and they include Young poppy and pandemonium.
