Mb Stables Rules SAR Meet and The Hopeful

9/5/22

  9  SAR    The Hopeful (GI)

    $300.000      2yo        7f  Dirt       119lbs

Mb Stables ruled the roost in the ’22 SAR Meet, knocking down the most wins, most cash… most everything!  And it was all because of horses like his 2yo monster, Spoiled… and that one added to his already impressive resume’ taking The Hopeful (GI) for his fourth consecutive win as the nearly 3/1 favorite in this one.  The grey homebred marked the early pace-setter, moved up at will, opened a clear lead and stayed the course to give the mega-stable a one length win, stopping the timer in 1:26.29 on the fast main SAR oval.  Twin Rackets closed from the clouds to give Alydar Stables the second spot, three-quarters of a length better than stable-mates King Noah and Peace Pipe, both from Arindel, taking the third and fourth spots.

Spoiled is a 2yo gray gelded son of Aplles To Oranges – Quiet Killer, by Fire And Fury, and as mentioned, was bred by his owner, Mb Stables, in ON.  This was his fourth win from five starts, the other being a near-miss second, and he now has earnings of $484.860.  Obviously, this one looks set for greatness, and would you expect anything different from this owner?  Congratulations to the Connections!

Spoiled stalked the paced 3p, engaged leader mid-way on the turn, moved past with ease opening a clear lead thru the lane, kept to task, won driving.  Twin Rackets crossed over to gain the rail, trailing the field, asked 6p into the lane, responded, closed fastest of all, second best.  King Noah off a step slow racing in the trailing pack, advanced on the turn 3p in a good effort.  Peace Pipe rated on the rail, moved up on the far turn, good late foot.  Kimbos Cat rated well off of the pace, ground saving trip, good late inside run, no excuse.  Fresh saved ground racing off of the pace, some late interest.  Smokin Secret tracked the pace to the furlong marker, used up, nothing left.  The Flying Minister some early interest, wide trip, tired.  Scar Tissue raced mid-pack 2p to the turn, drifted through the turn and into the lane, tired.  Tiznow sent from the gate, set the pace to the far turn, folded.  Drop Off raced mid-pack to the far turn, tired.  Only Just The Start chased the pace setter from the rail, tired.
