                              The BC Sprint- GI
                            CD Race 10 6F- Dirt
                              Purse $2,000.000
                        Three Year Olds and Up

Now here we are to see the best sprinters in the game and to see if we can have a repeat winner this year with Moon Landing. There are fourteen runners in the field plus two runners on the also eligible. There are some very good horses in here and it will be a good race to see for sure.

1. Hold My Steel (27-9-5-5 $707.480), trained by John Henry

Our first runner that we come across in this years edition is this runner right here. He is coming into this race off of a ninth place finish in the grade one Vosburgh. The race before that he won the grade three Bold Venture at Woodbine. He needs to run one of the biggest races of her career to win this spot.

2. One Dance (14-4-4-1 $501.910), trained by Gdp Inc

One of the youngsters in the field right here is a graded stakes winner this year when he won the grade three Amsterdam at Saratoga. Since that his last two races haven’t been that good but he did run third in the grade three Gallant Bob. He will also have to run the race of his life to win.

3. Oh Awesome One (34-7-5-6 $766.420), trained by John Henry

The second horse from John Henry right here and this is a horse who seems to be on hard times. He hasn’t won since last December and he has been pretty much getting worse every start since then. His recent races don’t show me that he has much of a chance but you never know what’ll happen.

4. Bay Of Plenty (20-7-5-3 $1,145.780), trained by Team 7 Illusions

Well this horse here will be making his second start in the Breeders Cup Sprint. He ran fourth in last years edition of the race and then had been trying to go a route of ground most of the year. He is back to sprinting which I think is his best way to run. He will need to run a very big race to win.

5. Lucky Star (21-5-10-1 $508.080), trained by Estero Farms

Right here we have one of this years DeFrancis Memorial Dash winner when he dead heated with another runner in this field Charentes that day. He is a good horse right now and he is running pretty good at the moment. I think he is a dark horse in this field for sure and I wont be surprised if he wins.

6. Residue (12-5-2-2 $819.120), trained by Smokey Stover

Now here is a horse on a roll right here with two grade one victories in a row. He had won the grade one Forego and the grade one Vosburgh in his last two starts and he won very good in both of those races. If he has one more in the tank he definitely has a good chance to win this race.

7. Charentes (23-7-7-5 $428.940), trained by Angelos Stable

The other winner of this years DeFrancis Memorial Dash but unlike Lucky Star he went ahead and ran one more time before this race. That was a win in the grade two Phoenix at Keeneland last out on the slop. He is running very good right now and I definitely see him having a good chance to win.

8. Peculiar Sensation (11-5-1-2 $292.880), trained by Mb Stables

Another of the youngsters in the field and this horse has been knocking on the door lately but hasn’t been able to get the job done. He ran fourth last out in the grade three Gallant Bob at Parx and only got beat half of a length. He is versatile so wherever he ends up will dictate where he finishes.

9. Gold Sunset (11-2-1-2 $135.460), trained by Maze Stables

Here is a good horse right here but he has been unlucky in some of his races. He likes to get out towards the front usually in his races and it usually gets him beaten even though he doesn’t run that bad. He is coming off an optional claimer win and I think he has an alright chance of winning.

10. No Waiting (14-6-2-4 $378.250), trained by John Henry

The third runner from John Henry’s barn and I definitely have to say that this is his best shot in the race for sure. This horse won the grade one Vanderbilt Handicap and then barely lost his two starts since that race. He ran third in the Phoenix last out in the slop. He has a decent shot in this race for sure.

11. Moon Landing (40-11-9-8 $3286.430), trained by Mb Stables

Right here we have last years Breeders Cup Sprint winner and I don’t think this horse has lost a step at all. This horse is one of the most consistent horses I have ever seen. He’s ran in the money twenty eight out of forty times which is crazy good. He is going to be my top pick in this race.

12. Glorious (23-6-6-3 $925.220), trained by Spankys Barn

Here we have another very good horse and he is coming off of a second place finish in the grade one Santa Anita Sprint Championship. He only got beat by half of a length that day and he ran really good. He likes to show speed so he will probably be out towards the front so he will have to try and slow it down.

13. Creepy Palace (16-4-6-2 $354.220), trained by D J C Racing Stables

Here we have another graded stakes winner on the year when he won the grade two True North at Belmont on Belmont Stakes weekend. He has ran two fourths in a row in the grand one Crosby and the grade one Vosburgh. He will have to run a very big race to win but I wouldn’t be surprised if he did.

14. Con Artist (13-6-1-3 $625.040), trained by Mb Stables

It seems that Mb Stables might have finally found what this horse really wants to do. He had been running long on the turf early this year and then he was running long on the dirt. Then he ran short on the dirt in the grade one Santa Anita Sprint Championship and he won and is now in here.

15. Valiant Phan (30-12-5-7 $437.550), trained by Angelos Stable

Also Eligible

16. De Fuego (19-6-4-3 $243.970), trained by Defoe

Also Eligible

Summary

This years Breeders Cup Sprint looks very interesting to me and I think every single horse in this field has a legitimate chance to win if everything goes right for them. There is no doubt that this is a quality field. Moon Landing is my top pick and I do think he will go back to back in this race. Good luck to all.
