1st Name Drop, trained by Mb Stables

Definitely a wet track lovers that is his second stakes win in a row on an off track turf course. After settling next to last early he just kept gaining ground on the leaders until he eventually passed them all to end up winning by a neck. He ran the race in 1:44.43 and earned $180.000 for his victory.

2nd Snakie Groupie, trained by Maxmillion Farm

The only filly in the field and breaking from an outside post she ran a very good closing second. After she camped out in last in the early parts she closed very good and was only out kicked by the eventual winner of the race. The weight break definitely helped and she seemed to like the soft going.

3rd Sweeping Dragonville, trained by Drabfantasy

The more I looked at the race I came with the assumption that this horse could be a possible freak. He did not run too bad in his first start in three months on the soft turf. If he can ever find a firm turf course I think he will be very good and very tough to beat in these types of race moving forward.

4th Block Message, trained by Tiratzo

After a midpack trip the whole way he ended up not really passing anyone and kind of ran a steady race to finish fourth. I think he didn’t necessarily love the soft ground as it appears some others didn’t. From turf may have meant a different story for this horse but he at least picked up a check.

Summary

The race was rounded up with the top two finishers coming from way back in the field and the leaders ending up finishing nowhere close. The winner obviously loves the turf with some water in it as this is his second stakes win in a row on an off track. Congratulations to all the connections of the top four.
