The Santa Ana Stakes – GIII

Purse $200.000
Four Year Olds and Up Fillies and Mares

1st Nancy Broom Moytoy, trained by Team 7 Illusions

Well a second older fillies and mares turf stake win for Team 7 Illusions this weekend as this filly ran a big race to get up for the win. She sat next to last early on and made a huge run late to get up to win by a neck. She ran the distance in 1:59.05 and earned $120.000 for her big win.

2nd Easy Time, trained by Mb Stables

Now this filly here ran a very big race also after setting the early pace and doing all the hard work up front. The pace was not that quick so that helped her out quite a bit and I thought she might hold off the winner. Although she didn’t hold her off she was only beaten a neck and she ran a very good race.

3rd Broken Chat, trained by Estero Farms

The third place finisher right here also ran a pretty good race to get up for third. She was in the middle of the field early on and sat there for a while before it was time to start running. She was in second for a little bit but was passed by the winner late but still held on for third. She was only beaten three quarters of a length when it was all said and done.

4th Chai Mission, trained by Maxmillon Farm

Now this filly ran a pretty good race also even for being as far back as she was. She was dead last early on in the race by eight lengths and was even last at the top of the lane by four lengths. She made up seven lengths in the end and was only beaten a length by the winner so she closed very nicely.

Summary

A very good weekend for Team 7 Illusions in turf races for fillies and mares as this was his second win on the weekend. He won this one with a very good runner who ran a big race and she is getting better with every start. Congratulations to Nancy Broom Moytoy and Team 7 Illusions on the win.
