Native Diver Draws Field of Six

The Native Diver Stakes – GIII
11/21/20
DMR Race 6 1 1/8M – Dirt
Purse $100.000
Three Year Olds and Up

Here we are for this years running of the grade three Native Diver Stakes down on the seaside oval at Del Mar. Small field of six has been entered to contest the race. Let’s take a look st the field.

1. Bad Days (15-6-0-1 $267.400), trained by John Henry

First up in the field here and this horse is coming into this race off of a third in the Ack Ack Handicap at Churchill. Ran well that day from far off the pace but needs to run a big one to win this.

2. High Fives (10-2-3-0 $113.300), trained by High Voltage

Moving to this horse who is coming into the race off of a seventh in the Empire Classic at Belmont. Before that a second in the Oklahoma Derby which was a good effort. Going to have to run big.

3. Keep A Secret (18-5-4-1 $303.200), trained by Nakamura Stables

Next horse in the race right here and he has had two seconds in a row in the Seagram Cup and the Ack Ack Handicap. Runs those races back in this race and he will have a good chance to win.

4. Torque Converter (15-3-4-1 $192.150), trained by Nakamura Stables

Second runner for Nakamura Stables in the race here and this horse is coming into this race off of a very lengthy layoff. He has not ran since early June. He’s been on the shelf too long I think.

5. Popular Decision (17-3-5-5 $244.740), trained by Axeman

Next up right here and this horse is a making a good cut back in distance here. Last out he was third in the Tokyo City Cup going a mile and a half. He likes those longs races so dong know how he will run here.

6. General Obvious (16-4-3-0 $215.980), trained by Mb Stables

Last up in the race and this horse will be stretching out from sprints. He has been sprinting for a couple races in a row where he seems to like it. Never been on the board going long so don’t think he is a huge shot.

Summary

Rather disappointing field really with not much of a tough field. Toughest horse in here looks like Keep A Secret off of two seconds in a row. Good luck to all in the field.
