Never Forgotten Makes Seasonal Debut in The Foward Gal

The Forward Gal Stakes – GIII (P3) [KYO]
2/1/20
GP Race 5 7F – Dirt
Purse $150.000
Three Year Olds Fillies

Only a field of ten after the two scratches from Mb Stables which he scratched everything that was in at Gulfstream Park this big race day. This is one of the final Kentucky Oaks points race at a sprint distance so some of these may not be aiming at the Oaks necessarily. Let’s take a look at the field.

1. Numbered Account (3-2-0-0 $61.960), trained by D J C Racing Stables

First runner in the field here and she is coming into this race off of two wins in a row and her last race was a win in stakes race at Fair Grounds on the mud. She won that race and it was sprinting and with the rain expected that off track win is very appealing. She could improve off that and get a win here.

2. Tamalpais (4-3-0-0 $42.480), trained by Mb Stables

Scratched

3. Never Forgotten (8-4-1-0 $739.000), trained by Estero Farms

A grade one winner here in this field and she took the Alcibiades last fall at Keeneland. She was tenth in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies but came back and won a big statebred stakes race at Aqueduct. The distance is no problem and she is the class of the field but she seems a tad inconsistent.

4. Very Brady (2-1-0-0 $27.840), trained by Maletto

Now onto this filly who is coming into this race off of a maiden breaking score right here at Gulfstream. She won gate to wire that day but it was only a four horse field. She is taking a huge step up in class here and I just don’t think she is ready for this jump yet.

5. Ms Rebel Rabbit (7-4-1-1 $65.130), trained by Stone Creek Farm

A four time winner right here and she is coming into this race off of a three race win streak including a win in the Arizona Juvenile Fillies Stakes in her last start. She won very impressively and seems ready to make this step up in class. She could upset this field if she runs big.

6. Enriched (4-2-0-0 $168.430), trained by Mb Stables

Scratched

7. Sunlite (6-2-1-2 $130.680), trained by Rampage Stable

Another stakes winner in this field here and she is returning to a sprint distance after two unsuccessful tries at a route. Her stakes win was at six furlongs so she needs to stretch her speed out another furlongs but I think she can. She will have to get back to her sprint form to win.

8. Vonn (4-1-1-1 $30.450), trained by Aer Stables

Looking at this filly now and she will be making her first start for trainer Aer Stables as he claimed her in her last start for thirty dollars. She ran third that day on the slop after being on the front for most of the race. She is going to have to step it up big time to win in here though.

9. Niagra Beauty (6-3-1-1 $156.000), trained by Allinthegate

Onto this filly here who will be entering this race off of a win in a statebred stakes race at Los Alamitos in here last start. She went wire to wire that day going a mile and is now cutting back to one turn for this race. This distance shouldn’t be a problem and she has good chance in here.

10. Starship Rhythm (9-3-0-1 $167.740), trained by Arindel

Heaviest raced filly in the whole field here and she will need to step it up in here is she wants to have a chance. She ran a bad fourth in a non two lifetime allowance race here at Gulfstream in her last start. She doesn’t seem to have enough to compete with these.

11. Rabbit For A Cause (5-2-0-1 $160.660), trained by Jive Inc.

Graded stakes winner right here and she has already picked up some Oaks points when she won the grade two Pocahontas. She ran thirteenth in the Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies and this is her first start since that day. She is cutting back in distance and should have a nice run first off the layoff.

12. Miss Tallmadge (7-2-0-2 $199.000), trained by John Henry

And finally the last runner in the field and she is coming into this race off of two bad runs in the grade one Chandelier and Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies. Her best races have been around one turn and she finally gets back to it here. The outside post hurts but she may upset this field.

Summary

Another Kentucky Oaks prep here that is offering up Oaks points and it is one of the few at a sprint distance. My top pick has to be the grade one winner Never Forgotten with all of the class that she oozes. Good luck to all in the field.
