New Albany Sets the Track Alight in The Roxelana

The Roxelana
6 Furlongs Dirt Stake Purse $200.000 Filly & Mare 4 Year Olds And Up.

1st New Albany Our Athletes Geroux F

On pace was working well today at CD and even when the early pace this one set was almost suicidal, she still held on pretty handily in the end. You know it’s an on-pace engine day when even the 22 second flat first quarters can hold on especially considering that she set slower splits off the front at AQU last time and was run down in a much slower time. This was a third win in her last four and she has definitely found some upward motion in her improvement curve and with only thirteen starts she looks like an improver to put in your black book this season.

2nd Flyingbolt Mo Mentum Farm Morales E

Turf or dirt it doesn’t matter to a lot of horses and it didn’t matter to this six year old today. I thought that she would catch the fast pace but though she made good ground the closing speed of this new engine makes it harder these days to time the challenge and she cam up short in the end. With 25 in the money finishes she has nothing to prove and ran her usual consistent race today.

3rd = Furlough Maxmillion Farm Garcia Mar

Led in her last two starts but was chosen to stalk today and whilst she kept on OK, she never really looked like getting to the winner. A fair effort but she again promised a little more than she delivered.

3rd = Commanding Jane Night Rider Stables Corrales G

The odds monkeys had this one well overpriced but she showed up how I expected her to, not getting to the first two but running well to share third on the line.
