And here we are for the other mile and a half race on this big day at Belmont but this is with the older horses. A field of nine distance runners are lining up for this years running of the Brooklyn here at Belmont. It should be a good race so let’s take a look at the field.

1. Dream Controlled (19-7-3-2 $1,445.590), trained by Mb Stables

The first runner in the field right here is returning to the sight of his greatest victory which was the grade one Belmont Stakes over this same track and distance. He hasn’t really been the same horse since that win but maybe he can work some magic up again and win this.

2. One For Charlie (20-2-3-3 $246.000), trained by TwinTowers Racing

This next runner in the field is making quite the stretch out in here. He just ran fourth in an allowance race going six and a half furlongs and now he is stretching out to this mile and a half distance. I just do not really see him having much of a chance in this spot unfortunately.

3. Combat Wombat (8-4-1-0 $2,535.020), trained by Maxmillion Farm

Now here is one of the top runners in the field right here and he is coming into this race off of a win in the grade two Charles Town Classic. He ran a huge race that day and he is a very good horse and I think he will like this distance also. He is my top choice in the field.

4. Higher Limit (24-7-2-7 $407.440), trained by Night Rider Stables

Next runner in the field right here is somewhat of a specialist at this mile and a half distance. He has ran at this distance six times in a row and has a grade three win at it. He likes the distance that is for sure I am just not sure if he is that good to win this race. He wouldn’t surprise me though.

5. L A Raw (22-4-4-3 $263.540), trained by D J C Racing Stables

The first of two runners from this barn right here and this horse has a stakes win over this same track and distance. He won the Temperance Hill right here last fall and ran a good race that day. Maybe a return to this distance is what he has been looking for.

6. Catch The Pink (28-6-6-6 $243.500), trained by Gdp Inc

Another one of those that likes to go these long distances right here as he just ran second in the mile and three eights Flat Out over this same track. He got too far off of a lone speed horse that day and then got passed by another runner late. He likes these long races but not sure how he stands with these.

7. Face Your Fear (19-3-1-8 $247.990), trained by Luz International

The next horse in the field right here will be making his first start over a mile and an eighth in this race. The way he runs it seems to me that he might not like this stretch out that much but you never know. I don’t really see him having much of a chance but maybe he will surprise me.

8. Notable (17-3-6-3 $188.730), trained by D J C Racing Stables

The second runner from this barn right here and he is coming into this race off of an odd win in the Flat Out over this same track. He was as much as twenty three lengths back at one point but came flying to get the win. He won’t get that same trip in here but maybe he can still win.

9. Jakes Language (3-2-0-1 $321.300), trained by Nolespan Racing

And the final runner in the field is also the only filly in the field. She is coming into this spot off of a grade one win in the La Troienne on Derby weekend. This is a big task though and she has never been this distance so not sure how she will run. She might have a chance though.

Summary

Well this is a pretty nice field that been assembled for this years running of the grade two Brooklyn there is definitely a couple of runners I could see winning but my top choice is Combat Wombat. He looks like the class of the field to me and I think he will win. Good luck to all in the race.
