Orion Nebula is Definitely Out of This World This Season.

Throw dirt and mud into this juveniles face and I would bet you he would still win the race. The Fractious recent purchase was able to walk away with the Gr. II SAR Special here at the Spa on Saturday, and in brilliant fashion.

  • The SAR Special Grade II – Purse $200.000
  • Saratoga Race Course – For Two Year Olds
  • Six and One half Furlongs- Main Track

While Orion’s Belt consist of three stars named Alnitak, Alnilam and Mintaka, Orion Nebula has three stars of his own in the names of maiden win one, allowance win number two, and finally SAR Special victory number three. Being able to pick up this talented juvenile for what I would consider a song, his trainer asked for him to perform, and he did just that. ” He seems very talented, ” trainer Fractious commented following the race. ” I wanted to see if he could be rated today and it worked out well!” I asked the trainer why he purchased this juvenile black gelding? ” I liked his confo and his speed mostly he said, then went on to add, ” Looks like he can adapt to any pace situation, so yeah, I’m happy to have him.”

Its obvious the removal of the Lasix and blinkers was not a detriment to his ability to compete at this level, and will be interesting to see if his trainer will continue on with a sprint campaign for a while before stretching him out in distance. Definitely get use to here this name in the future.

Placing second would be Mb Stables post time favorite Fancy This who was in command slightly with a half furlong to run, then missed out by a head in the photo. Still hasn’t missed a payout in five career starts placing in every event, but is definitely hoping to make winning a regular occurance in the future. Hopefully from a fans point of view, we will see these two battle once again soon.

Sliding in for third was La Canada Racehorses Not So Nice who made the most of his rail post. Stepped back slightly at the onset of this event looking to survey the front runners, made the switch to his lead at the top of the lane and closed to within a half of a length by the wire. Let go at 43-1 odds come post time, the bay colt help to contribute to a $361.000 trifecta payout.

Rounding out the event in order of finish would be Dragster ( D J C Racing Stables ) 26-1, Spirited Stride ( Mb Stables ) 3-1, Commander Kemp ( Joshua Stables ) 46-1, Aggravated Sky ( Estero Farms ) 36-1, Tall Greek Stud ( Oquinn Farm ) 7-1, Yankee Doodle Dandy ( Blushing Meadows ) 13-1 , Sexy Back ( Night Rider Stables ) 237-1 , Pound It ( Fractious ) 114-1, and finally Certain Cash ( Eastern Equine ) 41-1.
