1st Osmium         D J C Racing Stables          Ortiz I Jr

It was great to see one of the best horses win the race despite the handicap and to be honest it never really looked in any doubt. A little slowly away she got on terms with the leaders by half way, essential on the track today which was playing to on pace. Once in front she never looked like getting beat winning by a length with Oritz staring down his rivals. She’s a really consistent filly at this level, not the best, but she always gives a good account and did so again today with interest.

2nd Misscarlet             Broken Spoke Stables           Geroux F

Showed her switch to the dirt and a 200/1 win last time was no fluke with a good effort in chasing home the winner. If sticking to this type of race she should enjoy a good second half of the season.

3rd Had Some Drinks             Mb Stables                 Bejarano R

Stalked the lead but failed to see out the trip weakening under the whip into third.

4th Indian River Queen           South Beach Racing        Santana R Jr

Did very well for a three year old in an all aged handicap keeping on well to be fourth just a couple of lengths off the winner.
