Quiet return came into the race riding high on a two-race winning streak that included the Pilgrim (Grade 2) and extended it to three with a win in the BC Juvenile Turf. Not only has he won his last three starts, but he did also so by a combined seven lengths. He was in no rush coming out of the gate, which seems to be his style. Four horses went out for the early lead, while Quiet Return was content to run in the second flight two lengths off the lead.
Around the turn, American Grandeur and Sweet and Innocent were stride for stride on the lead. Galaxy Star and Suave tracked them a length back. The next tier included Quiet Return saving ground on the inside, Pink Shark and Ocala Secret. Another length back Long Awaited Friend sat easy in 8th. Then it was Leaderfromhell, Munich, and Duke Of Satire, with Kentucky Pharoah, Applauding The Sin and Cheyenne Lame Foot bringing up the rear in the early going.
Not much changed through the backstretch, but into the turn for home Sweet And Innocent managed to inch in front of American Grandeur. Galaxy Star made a move on the outside and also got past American Grandeur. Duke Of Satire swung to the outside and started passing horses. Quiet Return quietly came off the rail for his run.
The field fanned out across the track as they turned for home. Quiet Return found room between the leaders and they were three across the track – Sweet And Innocent, Galaxy Star and Quiet Return. Pink Shark made his run on the outside while Ocala Secret looked for room up the middle.
With a furlong to run, Duke Of Satire flew past just about everyone to get up into second. Munich managed to make his way through a wall of horses to get into third, But it was Quiet Return taking the lead and exploding down the stretch to win by two.

Quiet Return came into this race with just $202.200 in earnings and added another $600.000 to that number here. Allinthegate’s homebred by Graveyard x Return Of Mia Mia (Cherokee Sunset) has never finished off the board in five starts. Can’t wait to see what’s next for him.
