Looked good winning her maiden but then got lumped with a horrible draw in the Alcibiades and ran a pretty miserable race to be a well beaten ninth. She certainly deserves another chance and this draw will give her every chance of putting that bad run behind her.
2 Start The Mummy Axeman Saenz D
This is one tough filly having run 4 times and never won or lost by most than a half length. An on pace type she will get an easy run from this draw and if she is in the lead turning for home she is sure to battle all the way home. There was a time only four year old stakes horses could work sub 1.11’s for 6 furlongs but this filly managed a 1.10 and 4 recently and whilst that is crazy quick for a two year old its not even the fastest in the field.
3 Dont Leave Me Lonely D J C Racing Stables Sanchez M J
Bought for $85 after some consistent overnights runs she was pretty disappointing in her first run for the new trainer but showed up better last time out when a strong finishing second in the Shesastonecoldfox. Whilst her form looks a bit light for this she has worked 1.10 and 3 for the 6 furlongs so if there is some improvement over this trip she could be a surprise package.
4 How Trait Gdp Inc Bridgmohan S X
After breaking through on her third start she went to The Spinaway and looked pretty good in running on for fourth place. That effort set her up for a big show in the Alcibiades but she got a little too far back and despite staying on well enough was never close enough ending up sixth. She is definitely wort another chance especially as she is a real routing type who will be running on when others weaken.
5 Best Tactic Delta Farms Gaffalione T
The winner of three from four she hasnt had the best luck with the draw and has still managed a great record so her chances here must be taken very seriously. A strong all the way winner last time in the Rags To Riches she wasnt as strong in the Pocahontas the time before but had to work from a wide draw whereas she got a soft lead in that last win. A better draw this time and a bit to prove.
6 Maui Underworld Lazy Lizard Alvarado J
Although she has not raced in a black type before her last two wins have come over this trip and she must be given a chance on the fact that she will see out every yard of this race. Se will get back and run on and with some luck could run well.
7 Vegas Show Hen Our Athletes Jaramillo E
Looked a very special type winning her first three races but her reputation was severely dented in the Chandelier last time out. Its a mystery as to why she ran so badly but she deserves another chance even if it may be tough from this draw. She looks the type that loses interest if she gets too far back so i suspect the wide gate speed push may help her out.
8 Enriched Mb Stables Hernandez R M
The trainer will be bummed this nice filly got the car park draw but this may be the test she needs to end the season as a real KYO chance for the champion. Twice a winner over this trip she was very impressive in the Princess Elizabeth last time out but small fields and good draws suggest she faces a much harder task this time.
SUMMARY
A very nice race but as usual all the fillies are working within a few tenths of each other so the result may depend on something more than who is the best in the race. With that in mind i am going for How Trait for good odds and then thinking of throwing in Maui Underworld to spice up the exacta odds.
